It is Sunday night as I write this. I sit in my chair and I feel an “uhhhg, work tomorrow escape my lips. Thoughts of pain, and discomfort, and business fill my head and I feel my spirit sink. . .
The job I just said I was thankful for has invoked a feeling of dread…
Here are the facts:
I am Thankful to have a job that provides for my family. I was obedient in taking this job, and I have seen the King call on me for his purpose while being here.
The work week is hard. It wears on me physically, and spiritually at times.
Currently, This is where God has me. I will be obedient and do my Kingdom work here as the workplace is likely the place where I get to Fight, As a Citizen of Heaven, and a Beloved Child Of King Jesus.
The truth is most of us are in the locker room all weekend. We are surrounded by other Christians. We are in church, and when we are not we are with the folks we go to church with.
The workplace: This is our arena, our battlefield where we get to represent the King, stare darkness in the face, and hold fast to the truth that we are the beloved Citizens of Heaven who have been graced with a seat at the royal table.
Nehemiah 4:14
New International Version
14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”
Is this NOT our calling?
Are we Not to fight back the darkness?
What if instead of thinking about how bad we wanted to be doing something else, we stayed on mission.
The devil prowls around like a lion, looking to destroy you, do you think you are safe at work?
This is your mission, whether you choose to accept it or not…
